Heinz Nutritional Staging makes it easy to choose the right food for your baby. The four steps match up with your baby's physical development and evolving nutritional needs, to give you a guiding hand when selecting meals for your little one.

The Nutritional Staging system was developed by Heinz Head Nutritionist, Dr. David Yeung. The stages were built around the most important milestones in a baby's nutritional cycle, starting with the introduction of solid foods, and ending when your little one is ready to eat table food with the rest of the family.

Step 1

is the introduction of solid foods. This includes single grain cereals and single vegetable and fruit purees appropriate for your baby's immature digestive system.

Step 1: First Solid Foods

Step 2

builds on Step 1 with simple combinations of flavours. It features mixed grain cereals and more variety in jarred foods, with fruit and vegetable blends, plus meats and juices.

Step 2: Mix It Up

Step 3

provides more complex combinations and textures (and bigger bottles for your baby's growing appetite). Grain cereals with fruit stimulate their taste buds, while jarred foods have a chunkier texture with more sophisticated taste combinations.

Step 3: Starting to Chew

Step 4

features products geared to the needs of toddlers. Chunkier, textured cereals encourage chewing skills while snack foods encourage self feeding. Chunkier and lightly seasoned products with grown-up taste help the transition to table food.

Step 4: I Can Feed Myself!
